-The Top Ten list.

Just Maths

Just Maths is a subscription site, and for just over £200 you will get a series of videos supported with worksheets, teacher’s notes and exam questions. Two sets of materials are available for purchase. Their top 40 package is aimed at those borderline students that need targeted support which could also be used for KS3 students, if required. The second set of resources, Big Fat 50, has been developed using the topics and skills needed for the 2015 maths GCSE course.

Maths Pad

Maths Pad is a subscription site with a lot of resources available for free. There are several parts of the site to investigate. The interactive resources are engaging puzzles which encourages students to experiment first and think about the maths after. The exam questions are all online and allow students to test themselves and check their answers immediately after completion. Resources are easy to find by topic and there is a strong emphasis on flipped learning. Subscription is very reasonable and brings the added bonus of extra resources that can be set as classwork or homework. Parents and teachers can also track the progress of the students.

MathsWatch   maths watch

Maths Watch contains packs of resources made up of videos and worksheets that act as a revision resource for students. Resources are available for Primary, KS3, GCSE and recently AS material can be purchased. Individual discs can be purchased for under £5 with annual subscriptions available for Maths departments. Video samples are available to preview on the website and if you do subscribe the videos are well adapted to use on android, IOS and windows phones.

I was really impressed with this site, the free trial allows you to use all the features before choosing to purchase the primary or secondary package for your school. Students studying from home can use the resources for free, as can parents. You will find a huge number of exam questions on Mathster which are easy to search for using filters for year group, topic and level. Features such as the ability to answer on-line and keep a record of your score make this much more interactive and engaging to learners. On top of all that you get videos and worksheets that relate to each type of question. There is much more such as badges and customisation that is beyond the scope of this review. More detailed information can be found in this video.

my maths

MyMaths is a popular, subscription site that is enjoyed by over 4 million students a year. There are resources here for primary and secondary students and new material is constantly in production. For the students it is one of the most interactive resources I have come across. Lessons guide you through concepts step by step with sound and moving image. The homework activities are equality engaging with a series of questions that are answered on-line and helpful web calculator for when things get tricky. On top of all of that there are games and booster lessons. Subscription brings you the full content and the bonus of being able to track students’ progress.

We offer engaging, interactive lessons that help stimulate Mathematics for schools, private tutors and students in their own homes.

We have generated lessons based on the National Curriculum and we currently offer lessons for secondary school (KS3-KS4). The lessons are designed to generate a new set of questions from just the click of a button.

Each lesson has a step by step guide on how to approach and solve a mathematical problem, with a follow on assessment exercise.
